2011

Sometimes you don’t hear from someone for a while. Don’t take it personally, they haven’t forgotten about you and aren’t not thinking about you; they’re just incredibly busy!
It’s coming close to the end of 2011 and BE3Designs is wrapping up a few projects that should be ready to launch before Christmas, then we’ll be preparing to dive into some exciting projects in the new year! I would really like to thank the clients and affiliates that I have worked with this year, it has been a great second year for BE3Designs and year three is already shaping up to be even better! Running a business sure tests you in almost every way but doing what I love for and with people who are also passionate about their lives and what they do really brings everything together. It makes it make sense to do it in the first place, which at the end of the day – is important when you’re feeling exhausted!
A lot of people may think that once your site is done its time to say sayonara, but that isn’t always the case! I don’t always use the term ‘customer’ because I feel like a customer comes and then leaves, but I like to get to know my clients and continue to work with them on their projects as time goes on – maybe even drop them a ‘just because’ note, just because!
I am very much appreciative of the amount of returning clients and referrals, and humbled by the glowing reviews BE3Designs has been given this year. Please know that it has been an honor working with all of you on your projects this year! I look forward to continuing to work with you next year and say hello to you new clients who are already thinking about revamping your business’ website for the new year!
BE3Designs was lucky enough to work with two non-profit organizations this year and through these projects has met some fantastic, local people from Edmonton, Alberta who dedicate their spare time to making a difference.
Cotton Club Edmonton is an annual event sponsored by RE/MAX and Edmonton Marriott to support The Stollery Children’s Hospital and The Children’s Miracle Network. This year, BE3Designs got together with the board members to create a new website and branding image for the gala event. [Read More]
Maple Leaf Mission is a non-profit organization that photographers around the world may join and donate their services to terminally ill recipients, families in need, and even military leave. This year, BE3Designs sat down with the board members to create a new website to offer a global reach. [Read More]
Lets face it, I don’t have a lot of spare time, BUT there are always fifty million things I want to do. These are a couple of things I’ve started and hope to pump more out of in 2012!
Every geek has their blog. I geek out pretty hard with BE3Designs, but its business and I don’t particularly enjoy mixing business with pleasure. (That isn’t to say I don’t find joy in my work but…) I needed to have a place to discuss all those OTHER geeky things I love. Turns out I’m not the only one, so with fellow contributors in hand, we’ve launched Philosofreaky.com and Philosofreaky on Facebook. In its early stages it appears to be a blog and community for arts, entertainment and pop culture – we hope that it can become a hub for local interests as well; for starters we’re going to focus on Edmonton, Kelowna & Victoria (all three places I’ve lived (or am living in) and still have a large affiliation to.)
If you’re interested in Philosofreaky in some way, shape or form – you can email me at breezy[at]philosofreaky[dot]com.

Ask any web designer if their creativity remains on screen. I don’t know of any who keep their artistic endeavors to keyboards, mice, tablets and a stylus. If I’m not doodling on paper, I could be mixing up some acrylic colors and embarking on a blank canvas. I prefer to do comic/graphic to realism but eventually I’d love to feel confident doing landscapes, and maybe not feel like my abstract art looks like a child did it! Haha!
I’ve done about half a dozen commissioned paintings in the last couple years – if you’re interested in BE3Designs ArtWorks in some way, shape or form – you can email me at info[at]be3designs[dot]com.

With 2012 on the way, I would like to remind Edmonton (#YEG), Kelowna (#YLW) and Victoria (#YYJ) that BE3Designs offers reduced rates to non-profits and selects one organization per year to receive donated website services. Applications for proposals can be processed by filling out our online Website Evaluation Form and using the Additional Information field at the bottom of the form to paste your organization information.
You can follow BE3Designs on Twitter and like BE3Designs on Facebook to keep up-to-date with new services and features as well as industry news, links and specials!
Well, thanks again to those who helped to make 2011 a great year. I hope everyone has a wonderful 2012 and dreams are achieved!
Merry Christmas,
Bree
